New Work of Art

I really need to either get a new camera or take classes on how to take better pictures. It seems most of my pictures are always dull and don't show the true colors of my work! UGGH

Here is a plastic according 5x7 booklet that I made some 'enhancements' to.

My latest design

I had to make tags to attach to flower pots as a favor for my cousin's daughter's 1st communion and here they are! I used a Caterpillar stamp from Hambo, My Favorite Things Stamp (you make me smile) and My Favorite Things Stamp (thank you) on the inside with a picture she picked out and several different paper scraps!

Mom's Surprise 60th Birthday

I have been busy lately organizing and hiding favors and invitations. I made a favor box out of pastel colored paper from a template I found online. I stuffed the favor boxes with Lindt chocolate balls, Giradelli chocolate and Hersey kisses - that had a circle label on the bottom saying Marlene's 60Th Birthday. The stamp is a penguin with a Popsicle colored in with gold stickles.

Here are some pictures of the invitations that I made using a digital download from Dottie's World, silk flowers, buttons, stamp from Around the Corner Shop, a template I found online, paper pack from Bad Girls Kits and the invitation was a tag. I wish the photo came out better the colors were so bright, festive and fun!

Needless to say she really didn't know that the 30 favor boxes and the gift bags in my scrap room were for her party - thank goodness we have several events this month so I said it was for one or the other event and she believed me!!!

Here is a picture of the favor boxes...

Spring is Almost here

I haven't blogged in a while, been busy with party arrangements and favors for my niece's 3rd birthday, my mother's surpise 60th birthday - I have to post the pictures of the invites - they were so colorful!!. I have been determined to set aside time three nights a week to get things done! I have to!

I have finished a few books that I suggest for those looking for quick reads - The House of Night Series - another vampire book by P.C. Cast and Subterranian by James Rollins - a suspenseful end of the world race against time book! Excellent reads!

Haven't been paper crafting lately

I have been obsessed with cleaning out the old and de-cluttering everything! UGH can't stand the piles of stuff all over. I have been reading like 4 books again at one time. I am almost done with I, Elizabeth about of course, Queen Elizabeth it's like her diary or notes of her life with the drama, modern, I like it, the others are by Lee Child, I wanted to read all of his books this month, I have read all of them over the last 2 years but now, I want to finish all of them! I just ordered a few new books from Barnes and noble and can't wait to get those here - the other reason for cleaning out the old library - my attic is so packed with books now!

New Year and One Month Gone Already!

So I really need to set a time either twice a week or once a week to post and show off my work. I must post my work online to 'get it out there' . I made the cutest little favors boxes and I also had a stamp from Hero Arts for the thank you.

I recently ordered digital downloads from Charmed Cards & Crafts this site has some of the cutest digital downloads and the cards you can make are just unbelievably cute! I have to make invitations for my mother's surprise birthday party and found this blog-called Dottie's Wonderful World and was instantly hooked!!

I totally love reading 0ther people's blogs, I am such a lurker. Mostly the blogs that I have found lately are card making blogs - see some of them below and some I have read are scrapbooking related, but there are not that many of us out there! I have found that scrapbookers are not into posting their work online. Not surprising, right? When I do come across a scrapbooker's blog I quickly add it to my favorites.

So many people have moved away from posting their one or two page layouts, or joined a challenge website where it's a page a week. I have found tons of sites for ideas and projects and some inspiration, but it seems that the scrapbooking community needs to anty up and create a "FREE" blog and get their work out there!!!

Please send me some links for scrapbooking blogs!!! I need some more inspiration to get me motivated!!!!

Men who get manicures!

Poor Grandpa - this is what happens when you are playing with your grand-daughter, you have no way of saying NO! One hand was blue and the other was black. The last two pictures of our Lucas - she was going to polish his nails afterwords - and that's what he heard and took off!

Christmas is almost here!

How many days are left? YIPPIE I can't wait for this year. My niece understands some of it - at least the presents part! I have to do some more shopping for the parental unit - what should I get them? CASH?

I went scrapbooking at my local LSS which has closed so we have resorted to going to a local fire house - so not as much fun as going to the store! This economy blows big time! We still have fun and made our Christmas Cards - I found a few off of the web that I really liked. So I copied the idea and I will now be making the envelopes for them!

This week

So lately I have been interested in entering a few more challenges so I have searched the web and entered the Dream Girls challenge - but as usual - I was one day to late since the month of October has 31 days!! I entered my entry on the 31st instead of the 30th!!! UGG I was made because I really nailed this challenge. Here's my entry! The challenge was to use as much pink as possible and add lace (in the lower right corner).

Here is a slide show of a future scrapbooker - she just loves messing with my stuff. I now have a small drawer set aside for 'her' (my) scrapbooking stuff!

Happy Halloween Everyone!

Today's the day to be the most creative you can be. We can turn ourselves into Rock Stars, princes, princesses and even something scary!!! I found this scary pumpkin on the web and thought it was really good. Is everyone going treat or treating tonight? Or Egging and TPing people's cars and houses? Which could be more fun???

On another note I entered the Dream Girls challenge this week for Think Pink and I tried to take the picture in different places yet again and was unable to get the entire scrapped page in the photo - but here is my entry below. As you can see I still have the darn light from the camera messing up the photo. You can't see what I wrote - it was You can never have enough Pink!

It's Almost time for Halloween!

I know Halloween is right around the corner because it was really really cold out again this morning! I found the most awesome blog today and I will be making the cupcakes on a stick this weekend! I will be also making the other pops for Halloween for treats to hand out. We only get about 8 halloween-ers and they are all our neighbors so they take freshly baked goods as gifts! I can't wait to try this Bakerella cupcakes. I purchased everything I need and have a trial run this weekend!! I am sure I will have a few people that will test out the products!!

October Already!

So this morning was a bit of a shock! I had to be at work early - really early - 745AM - yikes I haven't been up and out that early in a looonnng time! The weather was only 50 degrees I was shocked, I did not have a coat and was still wearing capris so I had to rush back in and change my clothes and unfortunately get a jacket!!! - That really upset me, I am still trying to hold on to summer I guess. Pretty soon Christmas and snow will be here.

So I joined another scrapbooking challenge at Dream Girls

I really like this site - it's only twice a month and it doesn't have such strict requirements to stay a member of the challenge! I definitely recommend it. Go on over and sign up. The prizes are great too, plus you get your work out there! Here is one that I have posted - the first really isn't all that great because the requirement was a black and white photo - and I have yet to learn / master how to photo my work so it's a bit small.
