7 Gypsies Printer Tray #2

Here is the other tray I created for my niece's 8th birthday in April.
My niece's 8th birthday is coming up in April - yes 3 months away - but I was reminded that it's almost here !! I figured I'd better get moving on her present and what better time to do this then at this past weekend's crop.  I know I'm going to another crop in March - but that's two weeks before her birthday and that's just not enough time.

I actually ordered from Joann Fabric's a black 12 slot printer tray and received a white one - and I actually placed the order twice - thinking I should do one in black and one in white - but I ended up with 2 white trays, but it worked out fine.

I have a monthly kit from My Creative Scrapbook and I decided to use the papers from these collections as they are mostly Prima Marketing papers and some are just perfect for the theme I was going for.

I started with texturing the base of the printer tray with white acrylic paint and I mixed in basic sand until I had the consistency I wanted.  Then began the 'layering' process.  I used a sponge brush I purchased in the dollar store the began to 'slap' down the paint/sand mixture, once I did a layer I would use my heat gun and try to dry it as much as possible, then repeat the process until I found the texture 'puffy' enough or 'big' enough that it made a statement.

Each paper had to be cut to size 2 3/4 by 3 3/4 for each section.  In this 1st printer tray I used the following papers for the background:  Websters Pages - Adrienne Looman - A new Your, Do Your Best, Believe in Yourself and Shining Moment; Prima Marketing paper - Anna Marie Collection - Callico, Kaisercraft - On this Day Collection.

I ordered these from Gina's Designs and then I textured them with the same white paint / sand mixture then used my Tattered Angels spray on top for the look of a purple Eiffel Tower.

Here are some close ups of the individual trays.  In this one I decided to make 2 of the slots actual pocket picture holders so she can change a few of the pics as this is her graduation picture from 1st grade...

Here is the final product of my 1st printer tray.  I think it took me about 2 1/2 hours to get it done.  I also used Prima's Rose Heart corners, Create Memories clock and tree; Vintage Trinkets, Tim Holtz idea-ology Timepieces, Pink Paislee Hope Chest, Burlap Butterfly.

Family Love

This was a fun and easy layout to use.  I had paper with 2x2 little pictures on the back page and I never want to cut them as they are too darn cute, so I decided to cut them out and use them randomly in little boxes and add 3 pics from my parents 40th anniversary party.

Here I used Prima Divine Collection Chanson and Prima flowers.

You and Me....

Here is another layout from my weekend getaway for Scrapbooking.  I had so much fun.  I used my monthly kits from My Creative Scrapbook for this weekends work.  Here is a cute layout of my mother and Kate at the movies arguing over the candy.  I loved this shabby paper look.  Prima Ingvild Bloome frame, Prima Delight Collection paper, Flair buttons.

You + Me + Family....

Last summer we decided to go for a walk and Sara was enjoying the fresh air and the ride! I loved ripping and curling this paper it was so much fun.  I added the flowers that are all material based, ribbon and Heidi Swapp Vintage Chic Just dots, Crate Paper DIY shops and a few cute brads.

Kate and Tiny....

This was a fun layout to do.  I had 3 pictures of my niece and her stuffed mouse called Tiny.  What was ironic about this layout is that my grandmother's nickname was "Tiny" and we won this mouse at a grab machine and we laughed so hard that she was walking around the place with "Tiny".  It melted my heart - just thinking of my grandmother with her all day!  The paper is the Delight collection, prima flowers and a few random butter fly stickers I used pop-dots with for 3D effect.  I added some random bling to give it some pop.

Delightful Fun

Here is my mother and my niece I took on a shopping trip during the summer.  A fashionista a 7 already!  We decided to take a break from shopping at the outlets and I thought I'd get a few pics of these two - they are always arguing with each other and fighting, giving each other crazy eyed looks and then laughing together.  They are fun to watch!!!

Sara wearing sunglasses...

Here is another layout of my niece Sara wearing sunglasses when we stopped to get gas on the way home from vacation.  She was just so cute, picking out the glasses with Pop.  This was a really easy simple layout, ripped some paper, added some Prima flowers and a chipboard of a clock.

Sweet Sara

This was a layout using my monthly kit from My Creative Scrapbook.  I love the kits you can get at least 4 page layouts from one kit and have enough to create a few cards as well.  Here I used Pink Paislee Trinkets, 2 crafty Cassie's Flourishes, ranger mini mister, K&Co Grand Adhesions stickers.  I painted the chip art and added a bit of bling

Keepin' it Real

This is my lovely cousins daughter who always seems to photobomb my phone everytime I'm at their house.  So I guess I think getting her back by scrappin' a page of her funny faces is a great way to get her back!! I guess she didn't think I'd keep the photos!!!  This is Crate paper DIY Shop, prima flowers and prima angel.

Bad hair Day

This is Sara and a few times after baths her hair decides to mohawk it every now and then when she was younger.  I tried to cut the image out so her hair stood out more than it already did.  In this layout I used Lyric Collection, Pacato Basic Grey Soleil mini envelopes, designer trim with a chain.

Simple Layout

I really liked this paper that I didn't want to rip it or add anything to it as it was just so pretty for the pictures of my niece here.  I sometimes create a very simple layout that really has a great meaning behind it, simple, basic, but lovely.  In this layout I used the Delight Collection - Darling from Prima here.  I just create simple inked edges and very little added texture.

Together Layout

Here are my two lovely nieces at the Disney store section for "Princesses".  They just loved this store - who doesn't!!!  I used Prima paper Delight Collection - Darling, Decorative and Discover, lace, ribbon, powder puff ink in Ameretto, Prima Flair buttons.  I actually didn't want to alter the back paper here at it's fits the theme.

Cherish Layout

Here is my lovely niece with her face painted.  I used Prima Marketing paper Delight Collection Desitniations.  Mixed Media for this layout includes stamp ink and Paint, I stenciled the Crafters Workshop Designs by Jane, used glimmer mist Madri Gras, Blarney and Candy Apple Red, flair buttons and Prima Flowers.

Pop & Sara

My two favorite subjects to create layouts for, they are always smiling in pictures, always having a great time together!!

Here is a layout I used with my monthly kit from My Creative Scrapbook.  In this layout I used Prima paper collection Tea Tyme - Charmante as the back page, glimmer mist MadriGras by Tattered Angels, Jennie Bowlin Pearl Buttons, Gesso, Prima Marketing flowers.  This was my 1st attempt at using Gesso and painting with glimmer mist. It was fun but a bit messy - and yet it accomplishes the look I was going for.  I actually didn't want to rip or cover this paper as it was too pretty to begin with and completes the look I wanted.

Love is in the details

My scrapbooking weekend getaway consisted of me using all my monthly kit collections from My Creative Scrapbook.  I haven't had time to do any work in a few months so I took just my kits and I got about 4 layouts from one kit.  I'm sure the 'scraps' from my ripping the paper could create a card, but I needed to get a few pages done more than cards.

Here is another page I created on my weekend getaway -- Love Is in the Details.  This is my cousins daughter and their fab little Izzy!

I used Prima Marketing Tea Tyme Collection Charmuse, Cypress Rose Kersey, Prima Flowers, Imagensce iRock hot rocks - first time using this.

Visit to the American Museum of Natural History, NYC

This was my sister in law's first time to the Museum so it was really fun to show her around.  I love this museum, I go to the museum at least 2 times a year, it's a must and they have such fabulous exhibits to see all year long.

In this layout - again Prima Marketing Challis & Linsey Tea Time Collection papers, from my membership to the "My Creative Scrapbook" monthly kits, they use Prima papers almost every month!  They provide such great paper, products and it's just so darn pretty.  I also used Bazzil paper, pink, whispers embossing powder.

West Palm Beach Zoo visit

I still love Scrapbooking {general comment here} and scrapbooking with paper more than digital. I think I still just love to rip paper - since I work with legal doc's all day - it just feels good to rip paper!!!

In this layout my brother and his two beauties were sitting on a cast iron tiger at this great little zoo we visited while on vacation in Florida.  This layout included Prima Marketing Tea Thyme Collection - Marcella & Challis paper, Tattered Angles Glimmer Mist Candy Apple Red and Whispers embossing powder. A very simple layout towards the end of a 3 day scrapbooking weekend getaway - I was tired at this point, but still enjoyed getting 3 days to scrap!!!

The beginnings of my layout

Here is how I start a layout, I get my pictures then select the papers and just move things around until I'm somewhat happy.  Here is a first go at it. It is a very simple layout right now. Like my background it's my 'clean scrapping station'.

Working from home....

It does have its privileges!! My nieces were scheduled to come over so I decided to work from home and work I did!! This was what we did all day...
